Macrocosm

Macrocosm is a ceramic vessel that was thrown on the potter's wheel using stoneware clay as the base. This work was made as an exploration of materials and how they interact with the celadon glaze. I used extruded porcelain, black porcelain, and stoneware to create most of the surface decoration. I created outcroppings of stoneware and textured them using the back of a paintbrush, my thumb print, and the needle tool.
