Mother, can you get my coat clean?

Working as an ER physician in the pandemic, I painted this image thinking quite a bit about how religion ("Mother") could help pull us through. This man in the white coat is a co-worker and the scene imagined. I was following closely the obituaries at this time to look for names I knew and added pieces of this list to the white coat. A very difficult dark painting from a difficult dark place.
