My husband is a reptile lover. This Chicago Garter snake was on our front porch one day. My husband picked it up and played with it while I took some closeup pics, then I created a painting of it. I don't care for snakes, but I do find their patterning fascinating. I used pastel pencils for the snake and soft pastels for the background.
